Avion Williams, a native of Ypsilanti, MI, is a dedicated community leader and educator. Graduating from Ypsilanti High School with pride, Avion began her journey of service early on, serving as Vice President of the Black Student Union. From the age of 18, she has been instrumental in initiating various community programs while pursuing her college education. Driven by her desire to inspire youth to dream big, Avion has been deeply involved in educational initiatives. She has brought innovative teaching methods to preschoolers at the Goddard School of Canton, focusing on enhancing their cognitive and motor skills through Montessori education. Passionate about giving back, Avion volunteers her time to support her former music teacher, Derek Shelton, in his middle school music class. Holding a degree in education from Washtenaw Community College, she continues her journey of impact by organizing and coordinating numerous community events, including book fairs, holiday celebrations, and after school programs. Avion’s values of integrity, authenticity, and resilience shine through her work, as she strives to demonstrate that the journey is as meaningful as the destination.
